Day 1: Foundations of Federal Grant Management Gain a clear overview of federal grant management, including key rules under Uniform Grant Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), internal control frameworks, and national policy requirements. Learn how to identify and manage risk effectively through activities like reviewing a sample Notice of Award and grant policies.

Day 2: Financial & Programmatic Grant Administration Explore core post-award responsibilities, including time and effort reporting, drawdowns, and completing Federal Financial Reports (FFR). Get practical with cost principles, direct vs. indirect costs, and allowable/unallowable expenses.

Day 3: Oversight, Compliance & Audit Readiness Focus on contractor procurement, subrecipient monitoring, and property management. Wrap up with guidance on preparing for single audits, including a demonstration using the Compliance Supplement.

Rachel Werner is the the powerhouse behind RBW Strategy, a distinguished grants and fundraising consulting firm nestled in the heart of Washington, DC. As Owner and CEO, Rachel leads a team with an impressive 130 years of cumulative experience in grants and fundraising.

Together, they've orchestrated the successful raising of over $240 million and adeptly managed a staggering $2.5 billion in federal grant awards. Rachel herself boasts a Certificate in Grants Management, along with certifications as a Project Management Professional and a Certified Grants Professional.

Notably, she's also recognized as an Approved Trainer by the Grant Professionals Association. Rachel and her team are true trailblazers in the world of grants and fundraising consultancy.

Dr. Judy Riffle

Dr.  Judy Riffle is a former K-12 teacher, education specialist, University of  Hawaii new teacher mentor, and school district office administrator with degrees in special education (University of Texas at San Antonio), Deaf education (University of the Incarnate Word), and educational leadership in higher education (University of Southern California). Her doctoral dissertation focused on prevention of college campus violence against women. Judy owns Santa Cruz Grants & Consulting, LLC, and has raised over $35.5 million through grants and fundraising. Jasmine  Markanday is a unique blend of a seasoned grant professional and a financial expert with over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector. Her specialization in Federal grant readiness, research, writing, and management,  coupled with her robust background as an accountant and a consultant, has honed her deep expertise in grant compliance, particularly concerning 2 CFR 200 and  Federal Administrative Regulations.   Since  2014, Jasmine's strategic approach and extensive knowledge have led to significant financial gains for numerous organizations. Her successful negotiation of indirect cost rates has resulted in an estimated additional revenue of $500,000, a testament to her effectiveness and value in the field.   Jasmine holds several esteemed certifications, including Certified Grants Management  Specialist (CGMS), Grant Professional Certified (GPC), and Registered Product  Owner (RPO). She is also an approved trainer by the Grant Professionals  Association (GPA), further underscoring her proficiency and commitment to advancing the field of grants.   Jasmine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Emporia State  University and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene  University. Jenni Moreno

Jenni Moreno is a consultant and coach with a strong background in finance, training, and nonprofit support. She helps nonprofits and businesses build confidence in navigating federal grant compliance. Jenni began her career in bookkeeping and banking, later expanding into coaching and capacity-building for community-based organizations. Since 2020, she has focused on federal grants management and 2 CFR compliance, supporting organizations, many new to federal funding, through the full grant lifecycle, audits, and system improvements.Her coaching style is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a lighthearted approach that puts people at ease. Jenni believes effective compliance doesn’t come from having all the answers.
